KNITTING AGAINST CAPITALISM (2020-now)

It's a series of workshops combining learning knitting with discussions around the detrimental effects of fashion outsourcing on local communities and climate. During the workhshop at MoMA Warsaw (2020) there was an added element of visualising multispecies world-making based on Donna Haraway's cat's cradle concept. The result of the workshop was a 4-metre scarf for Spanish "Skeins against gender-related violence" - a project with an ambition to wrap the EU Parliament with a scarf as a form of protest against the whole spectrum of gender related violence. In 2020 I also hosted a workshop for Climate Youth Strike in Opole, where we discussed how to use knitting in climate protest based on historical examples. The same year a similar event happened at Dorożkarnia Community Centre in Warsaw. Alongside knitting we watched short films about knitting activists such as "Knitting Nannas Against Gas".The first workshop happened in February 2020 during 'Pervland' exhibition' at a private flat as a part of Barck Floop project (read more in info section).
